Role Overview

The Business Analyst will act as the bridge between business teams, users, and technical stakeholders. You will be responsible for analyzing business processes, understanding problems, gathering requirements, and translating them into clear specifications. The role demands strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and the ability to turn complexity into actionable insights that help shape better products, operations, and business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, and operational challenges.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, surveys, and data reviews to gather information.
  • Translate insights into detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Validate requirements through user feedback, prototypes, and analysis.

2. Process Mapping & Optimization

  • Map “As-Is” and “To-Be” processes using BPMN or similar frameworks.
  • Identify inefficiencies, gaps, redundancies, and automation opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements aligned with business goals and best practices.

3. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze operational and customer data to identify patterns and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Validate assumptions with data-driven evidence before proposing solutions.

4. Project Support & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Support product, engineering, operations, and QA teams through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, design, and implementation.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, UAT sessions, and post-deployment reviews.

5. Communication & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed documentation including requirement specs, workflows, and SOPs.
  • Present findings, decisions, and recommendations in a clear, structured manner.
  • Serve as the communication link between business and technical teams.

6. Risk & Change Management

  • Identify project risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure change requests are evaluated, documented, and communicated effectively.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and product development processes.
  • Proficiency in tools like:
    • Jira / ClickUp / Trello (requirement management)
    • Figma / Miro / Lucidchart (process mapping, flows)
    • Power BI / Tableau / Google Data Studio (data analysis)
    • SQL basics (preferred for data queries)
  • Experience with drafting BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process diagrams.

Analytical & Business Skills

  • Ability to break down complex problems into structured, actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of business processes (sales, operations, finance, customer service).
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to evaluate business impact, ROI, and feasibility of proposed solutions.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to interpret vague inputs.
  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • High ownership, accountability, and time management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Process Analyst.
  • Experience in tech, SaaS, e-commerce, BFSI, or consulting is an advantage.
  • Certifications preferred (not mandatory):
    • CBAP, ECBA, CCBA
    • Agile/Scrum Master
    • Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt)
